New Graduate Student Fee Information

In Spring 2009, the Nevada State of Higher Education Board of Regents approved a $35.00 new graduate student fee, effective Fall 2009. As a result, the $35.00 one-time fee will be applied to all new graduate student accounts. Please login to your student account through online registration to check your bill. This fee is applied to all first-time graduate students, regardless of whether or not the student attended UNLV as an undergraduate. Like other parts of the tuition/fee system approved by the Board of Regents, this fee cannot be waived.  Please note, though, that if a graduate student is admitted to another graduate program in the future, this fee will not apply. 

As a reminder, orientation for all new graduate students will be held on August 18, in the Student Union Ballroom, from 1-4:30 p.m. It is important that all new graduate students attend orientation as students will recieve:

• Important information to facilitate your smooth transition into graduate education at UNLV
• Information on Graduate College policies and procedures
• Handbooks, important forms
• Information on graduate student funding
• Information regarding graduate assistant benefits, health insurance, direct deposit, policies, procedures, and more (if you're a graduate assistant)  

If you have not already done so, please login to your Graduate College VIP page to register for orientation. Please note that new graduate students should attend this event in addition to their departmental orientations.
